The Witcher has once again been renewed by Netflix, but its fourth season will come with multiple changes, and one of the most important is its protagonist, who will not be Henry Cavill, but Liam Hemsworth.
The actor who used to portray Geralt of Rivia has decided to step aside, and in an IG post, he confessed that he would be leaving his “medallion and swords” for the new episodes of the popular fantasy series.
Its release date has changed multiple times, and apparently, the character’s new adventures won’t arrive on the streaming platform that produces it until a few months from now…
When is The Witcher Season 4 coming to Netflix?
The initial plan was for the fourth season of The Witcher to arrive on Netflix by the end of 2024, but it has been indefinitely postponed, so it seems that we’ll have to wait until the beginning of 2025.
The platform has renewed the series for two more seasons, so there is still a lot of story to discover. The fourth and fifth seasons will cover the remaining three books by the writer Andrzej Sapkowski:
- Baptism of Fire
- The Tower of the Swallow
- Lady of the Lake
Liam Hemsworth to replace Henry Cavill in The Witcher
A few months ago, it was confirmed that Henry Cavill would step aside as Geralt of Rivia, handing over his role to Liam Hemsworth, who has already tried on The Witcher’s costume in the first teaser.
The Man of Steel actor was the one who announced his departure from the Netflix show with an emotional letter to the fans on Instagram, where he welcomed The Hunger Games star to the program. He wrote:
“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with monsters and adventures, and unfortunately, I will be leaving my medallion and my swords in the fourth season. In my place, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will take on the mantle of the White Wolf.
