Dead Boy Detectives is the new sensation on Netflix that has been captivating young adult audiences and fans of mystery, adventure and fantasy stories. Especially those who loved The Sandman, as they share the same universe.

Created by Steve Yockey based on the DC comic by Neil Gaiman, the series has not only secured a spot in the platform’s Top 10 but has also become one of the most popular shows of recent times.

With a talented cast led by Jayden Revri and George Rexstrew, the drama seems to have a promising future in the catalog, and many have been speculating about a renewal for a second season.

Will ‘Dead Boy Detectives’ get a second season?

Dead Boy Detectives, the highly anticipated spin-off of Sandman, arrived on Netflix in mid-April and quickly became a favorite. So much so that it is believed to have been renewed for a second season on the platform.

Although the official announcement has not yet been made, the first installment has seen high viewership numbers, indicating that the service is not ruling out a new season of episodes soon.

Screenrant confirmed that the series has a future and that the eight episodes of the first season set the stage for the story to continue developing, especially if it is linked to another popular TV show.

The plot follows Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, who chose not to enter the afterlife and instead stay on Earth to investigate crimes involving the supernatural.

Steve Yockey and Beth Schwartz talked about Season 2

Steve Yockey and Beth Schwartz, the executive producers and co-showrunners of the first season, spoke with Variety and emphasized the future of Netflix’s new trending series.

“The best part of this show is that it has no limits. Ghosts, creatures, we could do it all!” exclaimed Beth excitedly, after discussing in detail what happened with the characters.

Meanwhile, Steve talked about something more specific than a Season 2 and leaned towards special episodes, like a holiday story, as some other popular shows have done. He commented:

“It would be fun to do a Christmas special. You know, one of those British-style Christmas specials with the Dead Boys and all their various traditions. So everyone should tell Netflix that’s what people want”.
