Netflix has been investing in multiple thrillers in recent years, and one of the latest is “Atlas“, which combines science fiction with a cast of talented stars, including Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers and The Mother).

The singer and actress plays the lead role of Atlas Shepherd, a data analyst who distrusts artificial intelligence. It features action and drama as key elements of its story, which makes it even more interesting.

Directed by Brad Peyton, known for San Andreas with Dwayne Johnson and as a producer of Daybreak, the film became the most-watched on platform’s catalog in the United States and worldwide in a single day.

Jennifer Lopez’s Atlas ranked No. 1 movie on Netflix

Jennifer Lopez has taken the lead in Netflix’s new original film, “Atlas“, which premiered just a day ago and has already become the platform’s most-watched movie, both globally and in the United States.

Flix Patrol reported this morning that the sci-fi thriller has exceeded all expectations, solidifying itself as the top trend on the streaming giant, surpassing other major productions.

The story is set in a dystopian future where an artificial intelligence soldier decides that the only way to end war is to eradicate humanity. Atlas Shepherd joins a mission to capture it, which leads her to make morally complex decisions.

The star portraying the data analyst is not the only notable figure in the main cast of the drama; she is joined by Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Lana Parrilla, Gregory James Cohan and Mark Strong, among others.

Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite were responsible for developing the story and adapting the screenplay. The project was directed by Brad Peyton, who has experience with intriguing thrillers.
