So far in 2024, comedies have been a leading genre in terms of users’ favorite Netflix productions, and this week has been no different, as a comedy series is the new most-watched in the US.
“Tires” is a comedy TV show starring some actors known for their humorous style, such as Shane Gillis (Gilly and Keeves) and Steve Gerben (Holly and the Hot Chocolate), who now bring chaotic characters to life.
The show has not only become a strong trend among American viewers, but the platform has also renewed it for a second season, which will arrive on the catalog sometime in 2025.
Tires became the No. 1 series on Netflix US
The first season of “Tires” (which has a total of six episodes), Netflix’s new action-comedy series, has quickly become the most-watched on the American catalog within hours of its debut just a day ago.
Flix Patrol reported at noon that the production is not only the No. 1 trend in the United States but has been so successful that it has been renewed for a second installment, slated to arrive next year.
The story is centered on the employees of Valley Forge Tires and follows Will, an unwilling heir, who tries to turn around his auto repair business while enduring the torment of his cousin Shane, who is now an employee.
The pilot of the series first appeared in 2019 on Shane Gillis‘s official YouTube channel, but it was taken down shortly before its premiere, and several years later, it was picked up for the first season on the platform.
Grillis isn’t the only great actor and comedian present in the episodes, but he’s joined by a long list of stars, among the most prominent are Steve Gerben, Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox and Stavros Halkias.
