As it happens week after week, Netflix has been renewing not only its catalog but also new original productions that have been positioning themselves as the most-watched on the platform in the United States, such as The Gentlemen.

Theo James and Kaya Scodelario are just a couple of the great actors who joined forces to carry out the first season of the series, which is currently in second place on the American Top 10.

Guy Ritchie‘s creation has it all: action, crime, comedy, and of course, plenty of drama. The story follows Eddie Horniman, who inherits a large estate and becomes the new Duke of Halstead.

Guy Ritchie talked about Netflix’s The Gentlemen

Last November, the acclaimed director and creator of The Gentlemen spoke with Netflix and addressed what we could expect from the series overall, emphasizing the cast and the story. He said:

“The world of ‘The Gentlemen’ is a bit of me. We are looking forward to bringing fans back to that world, introducing new characters and their stories, and I am excited to do it with this cast of immense talent”.

Also, he talked about a specific character: Eddie Horniman. The British criminal underworld is part of the operation, and in many scenes, we see him facing off against gangsters in their own game. In relation to this, the creator said:

“Understandably, His Grace wants to extract himself from this particular business. And that’s where deals are struck with the underworld that will probably come back to haunt him. That’s really what the show is about — the evolution from zoo to jungle, and how to hunt in the jungle”, Guy Ritchie said.
