The Chilean crime drama “Baby Bandito” is currently the fourth most-watched show on Netflix globally, according to the specialized website FlixPatrol. The series is only behind titles such as “Griselda,” which is still at the top of the list, “Alexander: The Making of a God” and “Fool Me Once.”
“Baby Bandito” stars Nicolás Contreras and Francisca Armstrong. It follows Kevin Tapia (Contreras), who planned and carried out the so-called “the heist of the century” in 2014, when a group of criminals stole over nine million dollars from a Brink’s company truck, dedicated to the transportation of cash.

With his share of the cash, Tapia and his girlfriend Génesis (Armstrong) traveled to Europe and flaunted their opulent lifestyle through social media, while police tried to find their whereabouts.
‘Baby Bandito,’ another crime drama that enchanted audiences
The series, directed by Julio Jorquera, was filmed in Chile, as well as Italy. Actually, the nickname “Baby Bandito” was given to him by the Italian press, the country where he sought refuge. While the series centers around thieves, its stars don’t think it is “glamorizing” this lifestyle.
“The series is not so much about the robbery, but about how people can change when they have money, which is a very human experience that anyone can relate to. There’s no idealization; it’s a reality,” Armstrong shared in an interview with El Universal.
Meanwhile, in the same interview, Contreras said that he studied the case and tried not to be judgmental of his character. “Everyone suffers the consequences of their actions, so no one comes out victorious, just as it happens in real life,” he said, considering that the series seeks to show the decline after the escape and avoids glorifying criminal acts.
Who else is in the cast of the series?
The story includes the rest of the robbers Pantera, Mística, and Panda, played by Pablo Macaya, Carmen Zabala, and Lukas Vergara, respectively. However, they are also being pursued by a dangerous group seeking revenge, “The Butchers,” portrayed by Mario Horton, Mauricio Pesutic, and Marcelo Alonso.
