Rian Johnson’s mystery comedy franchise “Knives Out” is coming back with a third installment, which is titled “Wake Up Dead Man.” Daniel Craig will also return as the iconic detective Benoit Blanc, but he is not the only one.
Part of the magic of the two first movies has been, precisely, their star-studded cast. The first film included names such as Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis and more. Meanwhile, “Glass Onion” starred Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., among others.
In that sense, new additions to the cast of ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ have been confirmed in the past several days. These include fresh breakout stars such as Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny, as well as veterans like Glenn Close. Here are all the names that have joined the upcoming movie.
Knives Out 3: Confirmed casting
As we said, O’Connor and Spaeny were the first names confirmed by Deadline as members of “Wake Up Dead Man.” Spaeny’s breakthrough role was Priscilla in Sofia Coppola’s film of the same name, in which she played Elvis Presley’s wife. She is also known for titles like “Bad Times at the El Royale” and “On the Basis of Sex.”
Meanwhile, O’Connor is coming fresh from the sports romantic drama “Challengers,” in which he shares the screen with Zendaya and Mike Faist. The British actor is also starring in “La Chimera,” which was also released back in March. And, of course, he gained worldwide recognition for playing Prince Charles in Netflix’s The Crown.

So far, Kerry Washington (Scandal), Andrew Scott (Fleabag),Glenn Close (The Wife), Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), Mila Kunis (Black Swan), Daryl McCormack (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande), Josh Brolin (Dune: Part Two), and Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home) are the ones who will be accompanying them in this fun and enigmatic drama.
Rumored casting for Knives Out 3
While not confirmed yet, What’s On Netflix reported that Lindsay Lohan, who signed a multi-picture deal with Netflix recently, and Venom star Tom Hardy are also being eyed to appear in the movie.
Johnson, who is back as director and writer, posted on X after the announcement of the title, saying: “I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.” Surely, fans are waiting patiently for another installment.
