According to Deadline, Chernin Entertainment has boarded the project, which is being developed as a feature film with Kornél Mundruczó attached to direct from an original screenplay by filmmaker and actor James Morosini.
The story unfolds in an affluent Miami community and revolves around a woman whose seemingly perfect life is upended by a shocking discovery about her husband.
‘Palm Grove’ Brings Together Two Stars on a Career High
“Palm Grove” centers on a wealthy wife who learns that her husband has been living a secret life. What begins as a revelation soon develops into a complex battle of manipulation and desire, placing the protagonist at the center of a dangerous struggle where trust becomes increasingly difficult to find.
The project arrives at a particularly busy moment for Ana de Armas. The actress recently expanded her profile as an action star by leading “Ballerina,” the “John Wick” franchise spinoff, and continues to be one of Hollywood’s most sought after performers. Her involvement in “Palm Grove” adds another high profile title to a filmography that has moved between prestige dramas, action films, and psychological thrillers.
Hudson is also enjoying a strong run professionally. In addition to starring in and executive producing Netflix’s “Running Point,” she earned some of the strongest reviews of her career for “Song Sung Blue.” The actress has also continued to branch out beyond acting through her music career and business ventures, making Palm Grove another notable addition to a period of sustained visibility.
While “Palm Grove” has yet to secure a distributor, the combination of Hudson and de Armas gives the project considerable momentum as it enters the marketplace. With a premise rooted in betrayal and two stars currently enjoying significant career success, it is already shaping up as one of the more closely watched packages seeking a home.
