If there’s a live-action film that is truly one of the most anticipated movies of the year, it’s Wicked by Jon M. Chu. The iconic story, which is one of the most successful Broadway shows to date, will hit the big screen on December 25.
The fantasy drama offers an alternative and profound story of the characters and events in the world of “The Wizard of Oz“, based on the novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire.
This year, the first part will star Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. As expected, the soundtrack is one of the elements that will give the production the most strength, with its many hits and classics.

Who composed the score for Wicked?
Despite Wicked having one of the most popular soundtracks, not only in the film industry but also on Broadway stages, the score will also be a standout element in the live-action adaptation.
The person responsible for composing it is Stephen Schwartz, known for a career spanning four decades and for being behind other popular productions like Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
The American composer and lyricist, who has won an Oscar, will create the score for both the first and second parts of the iconic film, which is now coming to the big screen once again.
