Since the beginning of the 2020s, Screen Gems hasn’t ceased to deliver horror blockbusters. “The Pope’s Exorcist,” “Don’t Breathe 2,” and “The Grudge” are just a few of their successful productions that have left a mark.

Three days ago, they released their next big hit, “Tarot,” which has already grossed $10 million in just 72 hours. It stars Avantika, Jacob Batalon, Olwen Fouere, and Harriet Slater as the main characters.

The plot revolves around a group of friends who rent a mansion in the Catskills for the birthday of one of them, Elise. There, they discover a tarot deck hidden in the basement and decide to play with it, despite the famous rule against using cards that don’t belong to those who are involved in the reading.

“Tarot” has just hit theaters and is expected to become a box office powerhouse, so it won’t be available on any streaming platform in the near future. However, being distributed by Sony Pictures, it’s a matter of following their typical release plan.

Since Sony Pictures doesn’t have its own streaming service, they frequently place their movies on various platforms. However, Netflix typically gets them first. Considering that these pictures usually arrive at the small screens 120 days after their theatrical release, we can anticipate “Tarot” to hit streaming around September.

There’s also a strong possibility that the distribution company may wait until Halloween to release the title on Netflix, capitalizing on the heightened interest during the spooky season.

Undoubtedly, there will be stiff competition for streaming releases, especially with the influx of movies hitting theaters around that time. “Terrifier 3” and “Smile 2” are just two examples of the titles that will undoubtedly draw crowds to cinemas.
