2024 was a great year for horror films, with releases like “The First Omen” and the upcoming “Cuckoo”. The list is quite long, and this morning a new production was added: Speak No Evil, directed by James Watkins.
He co-wrote the script with Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. The suspenseful drama follows a family invited to spend a weekend in an idyllic countryside home, which turns from a dream vacation into a psychological nightmare.
James McAvoy stars as Paddy, the main character and one of the family members. The X-Men actor and other great classics was joined by multiple stars, such as Mackenzie Davis, Aisling Franciosi and Scoot McNairy.
When might Speak No Evil be available for streaming?
“Speak No Evil” has just made its big debut in theaters across the country, so it’s a bit early to know when it will arrive on streaming. However, it’s a Universal Pictures film, so it could be added to Peacock‘s catalog.
The production company has a prominent partnership with this platform, NBCUniversal’s streaming service. Many of its titles, including recent releases and exclusive content, often premiere there after some time.
In the case of the horror thriller starring James McAvoy, we could assume that it will be released there by the end of 2024, in December. Neither the actors nor the company have made any official comments about this yet.
Generally, movies tend to arrive on the service approximately 4 to 6 months after their theatrical release. However, this timeframe can vary depending on success, specific agreements, and other distribution-related factors.
The window may be shorter for some productions, especially if they are intended to attract Peacock subscribers, which have several payment plans available, or it may be longer if other distribution agreements are in place.
