Despite all the rumors about the highly anticipated Joker sequel with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, the director confirmed that the film will not be a musical, but music will be an essential part of the story.

Todd Phillips confessed to Variety that the upcoming movie, set to hit theaters on October 4th, leans towards being “primarily a jukebox musical”, due to the number of hits on the soundtrack.

This time, the plot will not only feature Arthur Fleck, the iconic DC villain, but will also include Harley Quinn, portrayed by the singer and Oscar-winning actress from “A Star is Born”.

With the release of the first trailer for the sequel to The Joker, it was revealed that the soundtrack will not only feature multiple well-known songs but will also include two original songs, although it is not yet known who will perform them.

Variety reported that Oscar-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, will be behind the music for the film and will be responsible for it. According to a source close to the filming, she “infuses her distinctive and unsettling keys” into each piece.

Even though not all the artists who will be present on the soundtrack have been revealed yet, it has been confirmed that it will feature at least 15 versions of popular songs, according to Variety.

One of these covers will be ‘That’s Entertainment‘ from the 1953 musical ‘The Band Wagon,’ which has been associated with Judy Garland. Here, check out the list of songs and their performers:
