Joker 2 cast salary: How much did Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga get paid?

The highly anticipated sequel to Joker is not only one of the most awaited films of the year but has also become a masterpiece considering the few images shared so far and the potential soundtrack.

Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix will star in “Folie à Deux” as Arthur Fleck and Harley Quinn. The drama will hit theaters on October 4, 2024 and Todd Phillips will be responsible for directing.

The cast is quite extensive and the production boasts a budget of $200 million, which means it has cost considerably more than the first movie, which had a budget of $55 million but grossed over $1 billion.

How much money did Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix earn?

Joaquin Phoenix will once again embody his iconic portrayal of Arthur Fleck in the sequel and this time will receive a significantly higher paycheck than the last time he portrayed The Joker. According to Showbiz Galore, the actor has received $20 million for his role.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga will be the new addition and will share the co-lead role as Harley Quinn. We won’t see her perform the typical wild antics of the character, but rather a darker portrayal related to mental health. The outlet reported that she will receive $12 million for her work.

The cast is not only composed of Gaga and Phoenix, but in addition to familiar faces like Zazie Beetz (whom we already saw in the first installment), it has been confirmed that many talented stars will join the list.

It is not yet known which characters they will portray, but it is confirmed that they will have significant roles in the plot, so their characters will be important for the development of the main roles and their rise as villains.
