Lady Gaga, who plays the legendary Harley Quinn, revealed a little big surprise for Joker fans: on Friday, September 27, just days before the sequel’s release, she will launch a companion album for “Folie à Deux”.



This could mean that the iconic pop singer will not only perform the scheduled covers, but also that some of her new tracks from her upcoming work titled “Harlequin” may appear. So far, this has not been officially confirmed.

Director Todd Phillips debuted the trailer at the 2024 CinemaCon, the annual convention for movie theater owners. “Folie à Deux” follows the successful 2019’s “Joker,” for which Phoenix won an <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/oscars">Oscar </a>as Best Actor.

<h2>Phillips weighs in the “musical” aspect of Joker 2</h2>



The first <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a> served as an origin story for Batman’s most famous enemy, following Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up comedian whose descent into mental illness started a counterrevolution. Meanwhile, the second film has been reported to be a “jukebox musical,” but Phillips clears the air:



“Music is an essential element,” said the director during the panel, confirming that music and dancing will be featured heavily in the picture. “It doesn’t veer too far from the first film. We use music to make us whole, to balance the fractures in ourselves,” he added.

<a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/joaquin-phoenix">Joaquin Phoenix</a> (Gladiator) is ready to don the iconic Joker suit once again, and this time it’s for the highly anticipated sequel to the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a>, titled “Folie à Deux“, which will also feature Lady Gaga (A Star is Born).



Todd Phillips will be directing the film once again. The filmmaker himself will co-adapt the screenplay with Scott Silver, which is based on the characters created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Paul Dini.



The musical has been rated R for “some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality and brief full nudity”, according to some media outlets and official sites, such as Film Updates and IMDb.

Director Todd Phillips was the one who shared the first look on his social media, also announcing that the first trailer would air on April 9. Many fans have found some similarities between Alex Ross‘s illustration and the cover.



Although many may not know and others were unaware of the existence of the comic, the poster is inspired by one of DC’s most popular comics, Batman: Harley Quinn by Paul Dini, Yvel Guichet and Aaron Sowd from 1999.
