The sequel to the original 1996 movie starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, also stars Anthony Ramos, Kiernan Shipka, and more. The film follows a former storm chaser Kate Cooper (Edgar-Jones) who is helping her friend Javi (Ramos) test a new tracking system in Oklahoma. In the process, she ends up meeting Tyler Owens (Powell), a social-media star who posts his storm-chasing adventures.
While “Twisters” isn’t based on a true story, the movie does take into consideration climate change. And, of course, as a sequel, it also has some nods to the original film. In the scene, Kate humorously asks Tyler if she should print T-shirts with her face on them, referencing the earlier shirts he made in the film.
Although primarily comedic, the scene hints at the possibility of another installment in the “Twisters” franchise. And, if the film still goes strong in the box office, the possibility of another installment is high.
