Tom Blyth's upcoming projects: All the 'Hunger Games' star is doing next

After starring in “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” Tom Blyth is set to appear in highly-anticipated upcoming films.

After starring as the young version of dictator Coriolanus Snow in “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” Tom Blyth became a fan-favorite. His performance received praise, and the film was a total box-office success, grossing $337.4 million worldwide.

The 29-year-old actor, who studied at Julliard School, has also starred as the titular character in the MGM+ series “Billy the Kid” (2022-). His other credits include “Scott and Sid” (2018), “Benediction” (2021) and a guest role in “The Gilded Age.”

In a conversation with Número Magazine, Blyth said that he is attracted to complex roles: “They’re never just one thing, they’re a hero and a villain simultaneously. They’re brave and they’re brutal. I think I gravitate to these kinds of roles because they reflect the many dimensions of what it means to be human.So, which other tortured men he is set to portray next? All his upcoming projects.

Discussion Materials | TBD

Blyth will star in this adaptation of the bestselling book “Discussion Materials: Tales of a Rookie Wall Street Investment Banker” by Bill Keenan. The comedy is set to be the feature directorial debut of TV writer, director and producer Alfredo Barrios Jr.

According to Deadline, the story centers on Bobby Sanders (Blyth), a former professional hockey player with a knack for fast-talking and hustling, who transitions into a junior banker. As he maneuvers through the eccentric and slightly surreal realm of high finance, he grapples with the deeper questions of life’s meaning within this opulent environment.

A Farewell To Arms | TBD

His next starring role in a new film adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s seminal novel “A Farewell to Arms.” Directed and written by Michael Winterbottom (“Welcome to Sarajevo,” “Wonderland”), the movie features Blyth as the lead character, Frederic Henry, a young volunteer ambulance driver for the Italian Army during World War I. After being wounded, he falls in love with his nurse.

“A Farewell to Arms” is set to start shooting in Italy later this year. “As a long-time fan of Hemingway’s writing and Michael Winterbottom’s filmmaking, this is a dream project,” Blyth said in a statement.

Blyth will also star in this historical drama. Set in 1990s New York and inspired by true events, the story follows a working-class undercover officer who is tasked with entrapping and apprehending gay men, only to find himself drawn to one of his targets.

The rest of the cast includes Russell Tovey, Amy Forsyth, Christian Cooke, Maria Dizzia, John Bedford Lloyd and Gabe Fazio. The film is set to be directed by Carmen Emmi, who also wrote the script. Filming took place in early 2024.

People We Meet on Vacation | TBD

Tom Blyth has been confirmed to star as Alex Nielsen in the upcoming adaptation ofEmily Henry’s beloved romantic novel “People We Meet on Vacation. The actor will star opposite Emily Bader (My Lady Jane), who will play Poppy.

The film will be directed by Brett Haley. Filming is expected to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Barcelona, Spain. “I’ve been kind of an anxious wreck about who would play these characters,” Henry told Netflix. “I truly could not feel more confident that my readers and then so many more people who don’t even know about the book are going to completely fall in love with Poppy and Alex.”
