It is an anthology film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos from a script he co-wrote with Efthimis Filippou. According to IMDb, the filmmaker has described the production as “a contemporary film set in the United States: three different stories, with four or five actors playing a role in each story“.

The Brutalist

The Brutalist is an upcoming drama directed by Brady Corbet that is packed with A-list stars. In addition to Joe, who will play a mysterious role, the cast includes figures such as Adrien Brody, Guy Pearce, Felicity Jones, Raffey Cassidy andother celebrities.

The script was developed by the filmmaker himself and Mona Fastvold. It narrates 30 years of the life of László Tóth, a Jewish architect born in Hungary who survived the Holocaust. After the end of World War II, he emigrated to the United States with his wife, Erzsébet, to live the American dream.

Initially, László must endure poverty and indignity, but he soon secures a contract with a mysterious and wealthy client that will change the course of his life. Brody will bring the main character to life, while Jones will portray his wife, and Pearce will be Harrison Lee Van Buren.

The director confessed during an interview with Deadline that the film “celebrates the triumphs of the boldest and most accomplished visionaries; our ancestors”, and that the title is by far the closest to his heart and his family history. Therefore, undoubtedly, the plot will be quite emotional and personal.
