Being the son of “Psycho” star Anthony Perkins isn’t the best connection Oz Perkins has to the horror genre. He has also established himself as a director, and recently created what some consider the best horror film of the decade: “Longlegs”.

In his “Silence of the Lambs” themed production, Maika Monroe plays a new FBI agent tasked with uncovering a serial killer, portrayed by Nicolas Cage, who is far from an ordinary criminal due to his ties to the occult.

Thanks to an outstanding marketing campaign by the distribution company Neon, fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating the release of the picture in international theaters, while also wondering about Oz Perkins’ next horror projects.

What are Oz Perkins’ upcoming movies?

  • Keeper (TBA)

“She-Hulk” star Tatiana Maslany and “Possessor” actor Rossif Sutherland will lead one of Oz Perkins’ most interesting upcoming projects, which hasn’t been discussed enough yet,

Currently in post-production with no official release date, the plot is intriguing enough to promise a worthwhile watch. It centers on a couple who decide to spend their anniversary at a secluded cabin (a questionable choice). When the husband has to leave, the wife is left alone to face an indescribable evil that haunts the house.

Like “Longlegs,” this film will also be distributed by Neon, so expect another nightmarish marketing strategy.

  • The Monkey (February 21, 2025)

Well, this project has certainly been the talk of the town. Jokingly nicknamed “The “Avengers of horror,” The Monkey is another Neon distribution based on an eerie story by Stephen King, produced by genre maestro James Wan and directed by Oz Perkins. We can already mark our calendars for February 21, 2025.

The plot follows twin brothers Bill and Hal, who discover their father’s old monkey toy in the attic, leading to a series of gruesome deaths. They decide to throw the toy away, but, of course, in King’s world, nothing discarded stays gone.

If that hasn’t piqued your interest, check out the cast: Elijah Wood, Theo James, and even Oz Perkins himself! It’s likely not just a cameo, as the director has a small but notable acting career, with recent appearances in Jordan Peele’s “Nope” and “The Twilight Zone.”
