While many applauded Mark Ruffalo’s performance in “Poor Things” with surprise, they should have seen it coming. Not for the unpredictability of his character, but for his ability to excel in any role he sets his mind to.

From Marvel to cult cinema, he has showcased his talents in 76 productions, carving his name deep in the history of Hollywood. In such a competitive industry, he managed to become recognizable worldwide without limiting himself to a specific trademark.

Since he demonstrated his acting skills alongside Yorgos Lanthimos last year, we’ve all been eagerly awaiting his next moves. Luckily for us, there’s much more in store. Here, find all you need to know about his upcoming projects.

What are Mark Ruffalo’s next shows and movies?

Hal & Harper – TBA

Undoubtedly, “Hal & Harper” stands out as one of the most intriguing projects on Mark Ruffalo’s agenda. Directed by Cooper Raiff, known for his 2022 dramedy “Cha Cha Real Smooth” starring Dakota Johnson, the series does not have a release date yet, though hints from the actors suggest it will debut this year.

The revealed plotline is concise, indicating that the show will follow two siblings striving to maintain their childhood innocence, despite their single father, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo, pushing them to mature quickly.

An interesting aspect is the casting choice for the children, which involved adult actors to convey the characters’ fast maturation. Alongside the Marvel star, the cast includes performances from Lili Reinhart, Cooper Raiff, Addison Timlin, and Havana Rose Liu.

Mickey 17 – January 31, 2025

There’s nothing better than Bong Joon-ho returning to the big screen, especially when he’s teaming up with Mark Ruffalo. Their upcoming sci-fi collaboration, “Mickey 17,” is set to hit theaters on January 31 next year.

Based on the 2022 novel “Mickey7” by Edward Ashton, the adaptation will focus on Mickey17, an “Expendable” robot sent to a frozen planet for colonization, who refuses to let his replacement clone, Mickey8, take his place.

If the synopsis has you intrigued, just wait until you see the cast. Robert Pattinson, Toni Colette, Steven Yeun, and Naomi Ackie are just some of the stars joining Ruffalo in this exciting venture.

Crime 101 – TBA

Ever since Deadline reported on August 28 last year about the fierce battle between Amazon and Netflix for the rights to “Crime 101,” the project has remained in the constant spotlight, even though pre-production has barely begun. A release date has yet to be disclosed.

Helmed by Bart Layton, known for his work on the 2018 biographical drama “American Animals” and his innovative storytelling techniques, this project will adapt Don Winslow’s famous novella “Crime 101.” It tells the tale of a series of luxury jewelry thefts along the Pacific coast that remain unsolved due to a code named as the title of the work.

While Mark Ruffalo’s involvement in the project is listed as “rumored” on IMDb, sources close to the production suggest that it is very close to becoming a reality. Additionally, Barry Keoghan and Chris Hemsworth are also rumored to star.

Untitled Brad Ingelsby/HBO Drama Series – TBA

With Brad Ingelsby, the mastermind behind “Mare of Easttown” and “The Way Back,” teaming up with Mark Ruffalo, we don’t even need a title or a specific release date (which, in fact, we don’t have yet). To know that they will collaborate is more than enough.

Though details about this production are scarce, we know it will be a crime drama miniseries for Max, consisting of eight episodes. It will follow the “Poor Things” star as FBI Agent Tom, who leads a team in a Philadelphia suburb to dismantle a series of drug-house robberies orchestrated by an unsuspecting family man.

We also do know every detail about its cast. Tom Pelphrey, Owen Teague, Emilia Jones, Sam Keeley, and Alison Oliver are just a few of the performers set to be involved.

Now You See Me 3 – TBA

This is undoubtedly Mark Ruffalo’s most anticipated project. The third installment about the Four Horsemen and their adventures still lacks a confirmed release date, but reportedly began pre-production in April. If all goes well, we might even expect it in the last months of 2024!

While the plot remains tightly under wraps, it’s highly likely that the creators will deliver what fans love most about the franchise once again: illusionists pulling off complex tricks to save themselves.

What’s important to note is that the beloved main cast is back, from Mark Ruffalo to Jesse Eisenberg. Additionally, intriguing additions include Rosamund Pike and Dominic Sessa from “The Holdovers.”
