Josh O’Connor is one of the actors of the moment, as demonstrated by the number of major films he has starred in this year, such as “Challengers” by Luca Guadagnino and “La Chimera” by Alice Rohrwacher.
Although he has been in the industry for several years, it wasn’t until relatively recently that he began to be recognized as one of the promises of his generation, especially after portraying Prince Charles in “The Crown“.
As expected, he already has multiple confirmed projects on his agenda, and in one of them, he will reunite with the acclaimed Italian director with whom he shared his first experience in the romantic sports drama.
What are Josh O’Connor’s next projects?

“Separate Rooms” is the next romantic film that will be directed by Luca Guadagnino, based on a screenplay by Francesca Manieri, adapted from the novel written by Pier Vittorio Tondelli.

The story follows the romance between Leo and Thomas, spanning Milan, Paris, London and Florence over three years. The project is currently in pre-production, so there is no exact release date yet.
This drama will be the second collaboration between Josh and the Italian director, as they previously worked together on “Challengers”, the romantic sports film that also starred Zendaya and Mike Faist.
Rosebushpruning
“ Rosebushpruning ” is a suspense drama that is currently in pre-production and will bring together Josh O’Connor with two of the most talented actresses in the entertainment industry: Kristen Stewart and Elle Fanning .

Karim Aïnouz is in charge of directing, while Efthimis Filippou is developing the screenplay, which promises to have a variety of elements, but especially many emotional moments and reflections.
The History of Sound
“The History of Sound” is probably one of Josh O’Connor‘s most anticipated projects, especially because we will see him sharing the screen with one of the most beloved actors in the acting world, Paul Mescal.

Knives Out 3
Josh O’Connor has been one of the latest additions to the cast of Knives Out 3, the new installment of the iconic Netflix original franchise. The actor will join Daniel Craig in an unknown role and will not be the only star present.
Some of the figures who have reached an agreement with the project are Andrew Scott and Cailee Spaeny, so undoubtedly, the cast will be full of major important figures in the industry in recent years.
The person responsible for writing and directing the mystery drama is Rian Johnson, who was also responsible for the previous installments. Although there is no specific release date, it has been confirmed that it will arrive in 2025.
“Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” will follow the story that characterizes the now trilogy, so without a doubt, there will be plenty of drama, action, humor and a crime to solve.
The Mastermind
“The Mastermind” is one of the latest projects added to the actor’s schedule, and although his character’s name has not yet been revealed, it has been confirmed that he will be the star chosen to lead the narrative.

Jean Cocteau
Josh has been chosen as the narrator for the biographical film “Jean Cocteau“, which will debut as a documentary and is set to hit theaters sometime in 2024. Originally expected in September, the release has been delayed.
The project was directed by Lisa Immordino Vreeland, who also co-wrote the screenplay with John Northrup. Together, they worked on telling the life story of the French poet, playwright, writer and designer, Jean Cocteau.
The Dish
“The Dish” is one of O’Connor’s most anticipated films, not due to its plot—still unknown—but because of the incredible cast and production team behind the project, which is directed by Steven Spielberg.
The mysterious drama is set to hit the big screen on May 15, 2026, and is currently in pre-production. The Oscar-winning filmmaker himself is developing the script alongside David Koepp.
