Glen Powell is determined to keep climbing the Hollywood ladder with several upcoming projects. The “Top Gun: Maverick” star is coming from the success of his newest rom-com “Anyone But You,” in which he acts opposite Sydney Sweeney.

With the film, directed and written by Will Gluck, grossing over $100 million worldwide against a budget of only $25 million, it’s safe to say that Powell proves he is a bankable name.

This year, he will appear in two other movies. The first one is “Hit Man,” an action-comedy-romance directed by Richard Linklater. And then, he will give a try to the adventure genre with a sequel to ‘Twisters’ opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones. But that’s not it.

All upcoming projects of Glen Powell

Hitman (June 7, Netflix)

Powell stars and co-writes Hitman, which is directed by Richard Linklater (Boyhood). Adria Arjona (Andor) will also star. The movie is based on a true story of a Houston cop who works undercover as a hitman.

Twister sequel (July 19, 2024, theaters)

The 1996 classic with Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton will have a sequel starring Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones. Plot details are still unknown, but Edgar-Jones plays a storm chaser who retired to an office job after a near-death encounter with a vicious tornado. Lee Isaac Chung (Minari) directs.

Foreign Relations (TBD)

After working with Joe Jonas in ‘Devotion,’ Powell will now act opposite another Jonas Brother, this time Nick, in this buddy-comedy, reported Deadline back in 2022. Kat Coiro directs the film, after working in the romantic comedy ‘Marry Me.’

Huntington (TBD)

Powell is also set to appear in this revenge thriller, directed by John Patton Ford, inspired by the 1949 classic black comedy, Kind Hearts and Coronets. The movie follows the actor as Becket Redfellow, the heir to a multi-million dollar fortune who decides to speed up the inheritance process by bumping off the family members in between him and the cash.

Top Gun 3 (TBD)

After the confirmation of another Top Gun film, Powell is also set to reprise his role as Hangman. “I don’t know when I’ll be going back… I’m sure there is a jet waiting for me sometime in the future,” he told Variety.

Chad Powers (Series)

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Powell will star in this upcoming Hulu comedy series as a disgraced college football quarterback who disguises himself and walks on to another school’s team.

He co-created the series with Michael Waldron, the creator of Loki and writer of the next two Avengers movies. It’s based on an episode of ESPN+’s Eli’s Places, in which former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning goes undercover as a walk-on prospect named Chad Powers at Penn State.

The Running Man (TBD)

Powell is set to headline Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man,” stepping into a role originally portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1987 cult classic. This dystopian action movie is adapted from a novel of the same title by renowned horror author Stephen King, initially released under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. Paramount is distributing.

Monsanto (TBD)

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glen Powell, Anthony Mackie, and Laura Dern are set to headline John Lee Hancock’s upcoming film “MONSANTO.” The movie recounts the real-life tale of attorney Brent Wisner (played by Powell), who courageously tackled a seemingly impossible case against a major U.S. chemical corporation, advocating for Dewayne “Lee” Johnson (portrayed by Mackie).
