“It Ends with Us” is Lively’s next big film, where she will not only be the protagonist but will also bring to life one of the most well-known characters for fans and readers of Colleen Hoover, the novel’s author.
The actress will portray Lily, who believes she has found true love with Ryle, but after a painful incident, past traumas resurface, and she must decide if love alone will save her marriage, even when her first love returns.
Justin Baldoni will portray Ryle and will also direct the film, as well as co-write the script alongside Christy Hall and the author herself. The drama will hit the big screen on June 21, 2024.
The cast was carefully chosen, and the casting process was not simple. Finally, those who were selected include Brandon Sklenar as Atlas, Jenny Slate as Allysa, and Hasan Minhaj as Marshall.
The Husband’s Secret | TBA
“The Husband’s Secret” is the action crime drama that will have Blake in the lead role, playing the character Cecilia Fitzpatrick. The film is still in pre-production, and it’s unclear when it will hit the screen.
The story follows the lives of three women that crumble when one of them discovers a secret letter written by her husband. The cast is not yet complete, as Lively is the only one confirmed to be part of it at the moment.
Kat Coiro (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Marry Me and Dead to Me) will be directing the adaptation, which is based on a novel written by Liane Moriarty. Christy Hall and Pamela Gray co-adapted the screenplay.
The Making Of | TBA
“The Making Of” is a romance film that will feature an extensive cast of stars, but leading the plot will be Blake Lively, Richard Gere, Diane Keaton and Lin-Manuel Miranda. It’s not known which characters they will play yet.
The story follows two filmmakers who have hired overly emotional actors to portray their younger selves in the story of their great love. Unfortunately, as filming begins, their legendary marriage is crumbling.
Edward Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz are the ones responsible for the screenplay, which originated from an original idea of theirs. The project is still in pre-production, but it is estimated to be released sometime in 2025.
A Simple Favor Sequel | TBA
If there’s one project that is highly anticipated for the actress, it’s the sequel to “A Simple Favor“. The first installment was a global success and has made a significant mark in pop culture over the years.
Blake Lively will return as Emily Nelson, while Anna Kendrick reprises her role as Stephanie Smothers. So far, only these two talented actresses make up the cast and will be co-stars.
The story’s details are not yet known, but if it follows the same storyline as the original, it’s expected to be full of suspense, drama, somewhat toxic relationships, and escalating chaos throughout the scenes.
Paul Feig (Freaks and Geeks, The Heat and Minx) will direct the film, which is still in pre-production, based on a screenplay written by Jessica Sharzer (American Horror Story, Speak and Nerve).
Proxy | TBA
“Proxy” is the movie that will join the list of upcoming science fiction dramas featuring Lively as the main face. It is estimated that the title will hit the screen during 2025 or late 2024.
The tense story follows a woman who miraculously awakens after a medical trauma and discovers that her consciousness has been embedded into a biosynthetic body. Blake will bring the young woman to life.
Kornél Mundruczó will be directing the thriller, which is currently in pre-production. Kata Wéber, known for her work on Pieces of a Woman and Jupiter’s Moon, was the screenplay writer.
