Her mother, Michelle Lefler, served as the emcee for these events, while her father, Ben Lefler, was one of the lumberjacks. They often performed father-daughter shows, starting when Alix was just four years old. It was during these spectacles that a fellow lumberjack performer noticed her talent and suggested she audition for a role in a play—and the rest is history!
