<p>The movie was directed by <strong>Aaron Schneider,</strong> who is known for “Get Low” (2009), and was originally released in 2020. Hanks wrote the screenplay for the film, which is based on the 1955 novel The Good Shepherd by C. S. Forester.</p>



<p>The film follows a new <strong>US Navy commander</strong> who is in charge of a team of ships from different countries, protecting a group of <strong>37 Allied ships from German U-boats in early 1942</strong>, right after the United States joined World War II.</p>



<h2>‘Greyhound,’ a conversation with the past</h2>



<p>Hanks is no stranger to World War II stories, as one of his most iconic movies is <strong>“Saving Private Ryan,” </strong>while he also has producing credits on the series<strong> “Band of Brothers” </strong>and <strong>“The Pacific.” </strong>He says that as <em>“a guy who has gone back to World War II again and again (in films), <strong>I see direct correlations to life as it is lived right now. </strong>I see the same questions being asked and the same solutions being pursued.”</em></p>

<p>As for his motivation to write this film, he said that when he read it he realized it was told through the perspective of its protagonist, who is not the <em>“captain you would anticipate being in charge of the safety of all these ships. <strong>I had a very strong mental image of the DNA of the story </strong>and how it could possibly be the screenplay of a movie.”</em></p>



<p>The film also stars <strong>Stephen Graham</strong>, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Karl Glusman, Tom Brittney, Rob Morgan, and <strong>Elisabeth Shue. </strong>While the film was first set to be released theatrically, the pandemic changed the plans.</p>

This week (Jan. 30th), the film is only behind <strong>Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon.”</strong></p>



<p>TV veteran<strong> Simon Cellan Jones</strong>, who has directed titles such as Jessica Jones and Ballers, helmed the film. It was written by <strong>David Coggeshal</strong>l, who is also a producer and has worked in movies such as Orphan: First Kill (2022) and Prey (2019).</p>

<p>Apart from Wahlberg, who also produces, and Monaghan, the movie’s cast include <strong>Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Saïd Taghmaoui, Maggie Q, and Ciarán Hinds</strong>. “The Family Plan” was released on Dec. 15th, and, per Deadline, it became the most watched movie on the platform until that point. However, it didn’t offer specific numbers.</p>



<h2>What is ‘The Family Plan’ about?</h2>



<p>The movie follows Dan (Wahlberg) who is a<strong> former elite government assassin</strong> now living a quiet life in Buffalo with his wife and three children. However, when enemies from his past track him down, he takes off on an cross-country road trip to Las Vegas with his family.</p>

<p>The film is a mix of elements from different genres: action, comedy and coming-of-age, with a story of the older daughter Nina (played by Colette) going to college. Wahlberg said to Comingsoon.net that to him, the story was <strong>“very relatable”</strong> and <strong>“it was a lot of fun.”</strong></p>

<p>Meanwhile, the director told Collider that one thing he wanted to make right with this film was making “all the members of the family having equal weight.” He also highlighted that the kids of the film were <strong>“really good.”</strong></p>

<p>While the film has been hugely popular, it received mixed reviews from critics. For example, <strong>Guy Lodge </strong>of <strong><em>Variety </em></strong>criticized the script, saying that it <strong>“mismatched” </strong>the wholesome family with the gritty, darker action scenes. <strong>Frank Scheck </strong>of The <em><strong>Hollywood Reporter</strong></em>, also criticized the script, saying that it stretched the “high concept” and that “to say it’s predictable is an insult to predictability.”</p>

<p>Yes. Before the first season’s finale, it was confirmed that a second season is coming. Stiller confirmed the news on his Instagram and then spoke to Variety about it. <em>“It’s really exciting to see the response from people who are loving the show, and the level of fan engagement,”</em> he told the outlet.</p>

<p>Without spoilers, Erickson has talked about his wish to explore the split lives of the other characters apart from Mark. <em><strong>“In season 2, we’re going to be showing all of these people on the outside,”</strong></em> Erickson told Entertainment Weekly. <em>“Similar to Mark, they each <strong>had their own reason for getting this procedure</strong>, and they’re all at some stage of a healing process for one thing or another.”</em></p>

<h2>Is there a release date for Season 2 of Severance?</h2>



<p>No, at the moment, there’s no potential release date, <strong>but it’s likely to be in 2024. </strong>Fans have been waiting for so long, and there have been upsetting rumors about creative differences between the team. </p>

<p>The seven episodes closely follow a group of young individuals who formed the largest air fleet ever sent by the United States during World War II. As is typical in wartime contexts, only a few of them manage to return home. These individuals were not only sent directly into Hitler’s territory on bombing missions but also experienced life-and-death moments at thousands of feet in the air.</p>



<p>The unit was named the “Bloody Hundredth” due to the significant losses it suffered in combat missions against Nazi Germany. Five miles above the ground, only eleven men, inside a bomber known as the “Flying Fortress”, had to contend with waves of German fighters behind enemy lines.</p>

<p><strong>Masters of the Air</strong> is the new series from <strong>AppleTV+</strong>, featuring a cast filled with major male Hollywood stars, led by <strong>Austin Butler</strong>. The <em>Elvis</em> actor is coming off a successful few years, and soon we’ll see him bring Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen to life in the second part of <em>Dune</em>.</p>



<p>Now, the 32-year-old star is ready to take another step in his career and star in the series created by <strong>John Orloff</strong>, based on the 2007 book “<em>Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany</em>” by <strong>Donald L. Miller</strong>. There, he will portray Maj. Gale ‘Buck’ Cleven, the main character.</p>

<p><strong>John Orloff</strong>‘s new creation, the renowned writer of <em>Band of Brothers</em>, is based on a true war story and follows eleven men inside a bomber known as the “Flying Fortress” as they battle swarms of German fighters while flying five miles above the ground and behind enemy lines.</p>
