“Bad Monkey” is the new Apple TV+ series that has joined the catalog to become the latest sensation on the platform, now holding the No. 1 spot worldwide, dethroning other popular productions.
The story, starring Vince Vaughn, follows a former Miami cop turned health inspector who gets caught up in a strange case when a human arm is discovered by tourists in the Florida Keys.
Created by Bill Lawrence, the series is based on Carl Hiaasen‘s novel and features a star-studded cast, including Michelle Monaghan. It has generated significant excitement for its blend of dark humor and mystery.
Will Bad Monkey have Season 2 on Apple TV+?
“Bad Monkey” premiered its first episode just over a week ago, so it is still too early to know if it will get a second season on Apple TV+. Everything depends on how many views it manages to attract.
So far, the streaming giant (which produces the TV show) has not confirmed the renewal of the drama created by Bill Lawrence, who is also responsible for “Ted Lasso”. Therefore, we’ll have to wait to see what the future holds.
Although it remains the No. 1 production worldwide, it has not yet finished airing all its episodes, as the season finale is scheduled to take place on October 9. The first installment will have a total of 10 episodes.
The show’s producer also spoke with Vulture about what lies ahead for the action comedy, and when asked if it was intended to be a limited series, the creator responded:
“The first season is Bad Monkey, which Carl wrote with a beginning, middle, and end. But Carl was my favorite author as a kid, and he wrote a sequel to Bad Monkey called Razor Girl that we also have. I don’t want to get caught in the thing where you’re like, “It’s okay that there’s no other book! We’ll do another year and it’ll be great!”.
