What is ‘The Idea Of You’ about?
This is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Robinne Lee. The film centers around Sophie (Hathaway), a 40-year-old divorced mother, who after taking her 16-year-old daughter to Coachella, starts an unexpected romance with Hayes Campbell (Galitzine), the 24-year-old lead singer of the popular boy band August Moon.
While it was believed that the novel started as a Harry Styles fan-fiction, in an interview with Vogue,Lee said that it isn’t the case. She did admit that a Styles video was her inspiration for the novel, but it wasn’t supposed to be about Harry.
