The mutants are back with ‘X-Men ‘97,’ a new animated series created for Disney+ which serves as a continuation of the ‘90s series. Created by Beau DeMayo, the show follows the X-Men facing their new challenges after the death of Professor X.
Being the first X-Men project from Disney since the studio acquired back the rights of the characters, the show has been well-received by critics and fans alike. Several cast members from the original series returned, either reprising their roles or voicing new characters.
However, Ray Charles takes on the role of Scott/Cyclops, following the death of the original voice actor Norm Spencer. Jennifer Hale replaces Catherine Disher as the voice of Jean Gray, but Disher returns as Valerie Cooper. Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, Alyson Court, Lawrence Bayne, and Ron Rubin also returned. Here is the release schedule of the series.
