El Fairmont Century Plaza de Los Ángeles abrió sus puertas esta noche para la celebración de la 28° edición de los Critics' Choice Awards, donde más de 600 periodistas de medios prestigiosos se reúnen para premiar a lo mejor del cine y la televisión del año pasado, de acuerdo a su visión. Como sucedió con los Golden Globes hace unos días, la temporada de Premios continúa adelantando la agenda de los Oscar.
Podemos decir que uno de los grandes ganadores de la noche fue Everything Everywhere All at Once, ya que ha triunfado en diversas categorías importantes. El film dirigido por Daniel Kwan y Daniel Scheinert es una de las candidatas a ser parte de los próximos Premios de la Academia y se prevee un futuro prometedor. En cuanto a Mejor Película Extranjera, lamentablemente Argentina, 1985 no pudo ante RRR.
Después de haber sido ninguneada en otras premiaciones, como los Emmy o los Globos de Oro, el show Better Call Saul obtuvo los mejores reconocimientos para el drama en televisión al ganar en Mejor Serie de Drama y su protagonista, Bob Odenkirk, como Mejor Actor en Drama. Por otra parte, Zendaya volvió a celebrar por la segunda temporada de Euphoria y fue de las más destacadas.
Brendan Fraser protagonizó uno de los momentos más emotivos de la noche al llevarse su galardón por Mejor Actor por The Whale y manifestó en un discurso los difíciles momentos por los que ha atravesado. Cate Blanchett triunfó por Tár y aprovechó su tiempo en el escenario para enviar un mensaje en contra del patriarcado y la lucha por la igualdad de género.
