This time, McCall is in a small town in South Italy but when he discovers that his new friends are intimidated by local crime bosses, he sets out to free them.</p>

<p>“The Equalizer 3” success on Netflix only two weeks after arriving on the platform isn’t surprising, considering that the film also smashed the box office. During its theatrical run, the thriller grossed <strong>$191 million worldwide </strong>against a $70 million budget.</p>

<p>While the film is considered to be the final film of the franchise, Fuqua has expressed interest in making a prequel of Robert McCall’s origins. Speaking to JoBlo, the director admitted that it would be a “cool” idea, and that Michael B. Jordan or <strong>John David Washington</strong>, son of Denzel, would also be great in the role of a young Robert McCall.</p>

<p>The director admitted that he based his work on the book <em>“La Sociedad de la Nieve”</em> by <strong>Pablo Vierci</strong>, in which there is a passage revealing the reason why J.A. chose to tell the story from the perspective of <strong>Numa Turcatti</strong>, portrayed by <strong>Enzo Vogrincic</strong>. Many have even labeled him as a silent hero and even an angel of the tragedy.</p>



<h2>Why is Society of the Snow told from Numa Turcatti’s perspective?</h2>



<p>The Spanish filmmaker confessed on several occasions and interviews that the film, which premiered on Netflix, seeks to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the tragedy. For this reason, the story is told through the character of Numa, who had a unique and beloved personality.</p>



<p>His actions before his death, being the last victim before the rescue, were noble and respected by all his companions. That’s why Bayona chose to feature him as the protagonist, out of respect for all the voices of those who did not make it and to commemorate him as an eternal hero.</p>

<p><strong>Fernando ‘Nando’ Parrado</strong>, one of the survivors, also wrote a book (Miracle in the Andes) where he talks about his memories of the tragedy and the role Numa had played back then. There, he confesses that Numa had been responsible for leading them out of the mountains and implies that they had formed a special bond, stating:</p>



<p><em>“Although most of us didn’t know him before the accident, he quickly earned the friendship and admiration of all the survivors. <p>Garth Davis’ <strong>Foe</strong> is one of the most watched movies on <strong>Prime Video</strong> this week, just behind Saltburn, according to FlixPatrol. The film was released on Jan. 5, and it stars Oscar-nominated actors <strong>Paul Mescal</strong> and <strong>Saoirse Ronan</strong>.</p>



<p>It’s a sci-fi psychological thriller which follows a married couple, Hen and Junior, living on a farm in the near future. Their lives take an unexpected turn when a visitor reveals that Terrence will embark on a space mission, and Hen will be provided with an <strong>AI companion</strong> during his absence.</p>



<p>The script, co-written by <strong>Davis and Iain Reid</strong>, is based on Reid’s 2018 novel of the same name. It premiered back in September at the New York Film Festival, and it had a theatrical run. While it didn’t make much noise at the box office, it seems like it will be one of the hits for the platform.</p>



<h2>Foe wasn’t well received by critics</h2>



<p>Part of the reason that the film didn’t do well at the box office is that it wasn’t well received by critics. It currently has a <strong>23% of approval on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes</strong>. Some reviews called the film “constrived,” “melodramatic” and not entirely original.</p>

<p>However, all the critics agree that Mescal and Ronan’s performances elevate the material, even a crazy plot twist by the end of the film. It’s not surprising, especially as both Irish actors are some of the most acclaimed of their generation.</p>



<p>This is Ronan’s most recent feature, after starring in the comedy See How They Run (2022). She has two other projects in post-production. One is the historical drama <strong>Blitz</strong>, which will be directed by Steve MQueen, and the other is <strong>The Outrun</strong>, which she is also producing.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, Mescal is currently promoting the fantasy drama <strong>All Of Us Strangers</strong>, in which he stars alongside Andrew Scott, Claire Foy and Jamie Bell. He already filmed <strong>Gladiator’s sequel</strong>, directed by Ridley Scott.</p>
