Kristen Stewart's upcoming movies: What is the 'Love Lies Bleeding' star doing next?

Oscar-nominee Kristen Stewart will be appearing in several films this year, such as "Love Me." Don't miss any of her next projects, including her directorial debut.

After a quiet 2023, Kristen Stewart will appear in several movies this year, including the highly anticipated romantic thriller “Love Lies Bleeding,” which is set to premiere in March. However, the actress is also seeking to make her first feature film.

In an interview with Variety prior to 2024 Sundance, Stewart said that she is looking for financial support to finally make her first feature film, an adaptation of “The Chronology of Water,” the 2011 memoir by author Lidia Yuknavitch.

Stewart, 33, said that she won’t make another film until she can finally direct this one, which she announced back in 2018. “I’m going to make this movie before I ever work for someone else,” she told the publication. Love Me (2024)

“Love Me,” premiered at a competition at 2024 Sundance. Written and directed by Andy and Sam Zuchero in their directorial debut, the film is a post-human love story between two AIs: a buoy, named Me (Stewart), created to catalog the ocean, and a satellite, named Iam (played by Steven Yeun). The movie doesn’t have a distributor yet.

Sacramento (TBD)

Stewart will also appear in Michael Angarano’s second feature film “Sacramento,” a road trip comedy in which he stars alongside Michael Cera. Angarano also wrote the script with Chris Smith. Maya Erskine is also set to star. The movie was filmed in 2023, but it doesn’t have an official release date yet.

The Chronology of Water (Director)

Stewart will direct this adaptation of Lidia Yuknavitch’s memoir. While she is still looking for financial backing, she has a lead: Imogen Poots, will star as the author. The film is also being produced by Ridley Scott through his production company Scott Free.

Flesh of the Gods (TBD)

Stewart will act alongside Oscar Isaac in the upcoming vampire thriller “Flesh of the Gods.” The film is set in the 1980s Los Angeles, and they will play a married couple which will find themselves attracted to enigmatic figure known as Nameless, which will drawn them into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills and violence.

The Challenger (TBA)

Kristen has joined “The Challenger” to star and finally make her big debut as a lead in a TV series. The actress will bring Sally Ride, the first female astronaut to fly in space, to life.

Maggie Cohn has been chosen to write and be the showrunner of the limited series, which could fall into the hands of Amazon, although nothing is confirmed yet, but it will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The story follows Sally, who became the first to fly as part of NASA’s 1978 space shuttle astronaut class, which was the first to be diversified not comprised of all white men, according to Deadline.
