<p>The likelihood of this casting <strong>seems high for several reasons</strong>. Firstly, Sam Mendes isn’t under pressure to rush into production for any of his four planned Beatles films. Meanwhile, Paul Mescal, as previously mentioned, has a packed schedule. Thus, if Mendes doesn’t insist on an immediate start to filming, <strong>Mescal is likely to accept the role.</strong></p>



<p>Nevertheless, all of Mescal’s upcoming projects are either in post-production or being wrapped up. <p>“Gladiator II” will have a wide release in theaters on <strong>November 22, 2024</strong>. It’s already one of the most anticipated films of the year. The movie was filmed through 2023 (before the Hollywood Strikes) and wrapped filming in January 2024.</p>

<p>While on the press tour for “Napoleon,” Scott revealed that<strong> Mescal is playing Lucius, Lucilla’s son.</strong> The director confirmed that he has been living “in the wilderness” with no connection with his mother, who thinks he might be dead. In the first trailer of the movie, shown at the 2024 CinemaCon, it was shown that Mescal’s character is <strong>inspired by Maximus</strong> (Crowe’s character in the original) to become a gladiator.</p>

However, fans have been speculating if this means that<strong> they’re working on a <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a> together</strong>, and now, <strong>Henry </strong>herself has ratcheted up the speculation by re-posting the picture on Sunday night.</p>



<h2>Could Paul Mescal and Ayo Edebiri lead one of Emily Henry’s rom-coms?</h2>



<p>So far, <strong>there’s no official comment on the matter.</strong> However, there are reasons to believe that this re-post isn’t just something random. For one, one of Henry’s novels being adapted is <strong>“Book Lovers,” </strong>and the production company behind the project is <strong>Tango</strong>, the same one that worked on <strong>Charlotte Well’s “Aftersun.”</strong></p>

<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Sarah Hayward,</strong> known for working on “Girls” and “Modern Love,” is attached to write the script. <h2>What is All of Us Strangers about?</h2>



<p><em>All of Us Strangers</em> is by no means a bland drama; instead, it combines a torrid romance between the main characters with a painful memory that lingers between the living and the dead. These elements have turned it into an emotional epic, making it one of the best titles of 2023.</p>



<p>The novel <em>Strangers</em>, which served as the basis for the film, tells the story of a screenwriter named Adam who, after an encounter with his neighbor Harry, returns to his childhood home. There, he discovers that his parents, who died long ago, are still alive and appear to be the same age as the day they passed away.</p>

<p>The plot of the novel and, by extension, the film, explores themes of nostalgia, loss, identity, and the impact of time on people’s lives. The premise that the protagonist’s parents appear to be the same age as when they died adds a supernatural element to the story, leading the protagonist to reflect on his past and his connection to his family.</p>



<h2>All of Us Strangers was a very personal project for the cast</h2>



<p>The <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a> is set in contemporary London, where Adam, played by <strong>Andrew Scott</strong>, experiences a chance encounter with Harry, an enigmatic neighbor played by <strong>Paul Mescal</strong>. The director himself noted that the feature is one of his most personal creations. </p>



<p>According to Curzon, the filmmaker confessed in an interview that he tried to make the audience feel something with the title. It was very special for him because it was filmed in his childhood home, with very personal themes. Also, <strong>Haigh</strong> emphasized the <em>“emotional reality”</em> present in the intimate scenes between the characters, as it is an aspect that is often overlooked. </p>

His great rise to be recognized as one of the most talented young stars in Hollywood occurred in 2020, and his stint on <strong>Normal People </strong>was marked by critical acclaim and public attention.</p>



<p>His big break came after being chosen to portray Connell Waldron in the television adaptation of <strong>Sally Rooney</strong>‘s novel. <h2>What are Paul Mescal’s upcoming films?</h2>



<h5>Gladiator 2</h5>



<p>Paul is the one who was chosen to bring the main character, Lucius, to life. The story will take place 20 years after the events of the original film and will follow the grown-up son of Lucilla, who assumes the legacy of Maximus.</p>



<p>The actor will be accompanied by some of the most iconic stars in the industry right now. <strong>Pedro Pascal</strong>, <strong>Denzel Washington</strong>, <strong>Joseph Quinn</strong> and <strong>Derek Jacobi </strong>are among them. <strong>Connie Nielsen</strong> will be back to portray Lucilla once again.</p>



<p><strong>Ridley Scott</strong> is the one in charge of directing the film, based on a script written by <strong>David Scarpa</strong>. The release date was recently announced, and the sequel is set to hit the big screen on<strong> November 22, 2024</strong>.</p>

<h5>Hamnet</h5>



<p>This time, the young star will bring to life an iconic playwright and poet: William Shakespeare. <strong>Hamnet</strong> will be starred by <strong>Jessie Buckley</strong> as Agnes Shakespeare, with whom he previously shared the screen in the Oscar-nominated “The Lost Daughter” by <strong>Maggie Gyllenhaal</strong>.</p>



<p>During an interview with <strong>Radhika Seth</strong> from British Vogue, Mescal confessed, <em>“That script… it’s just devastating. I can’t wait. If I told a younger version of myself that this would be [filming] this year, I wouldn’t believe it. I’ve obviously been in a film with Jessie before, but we’ve never shared the screen or a working process together</em>“.</p>



<p>He then added, <em>“I think she’s one of our greats today. And Chloé is someone I can’t wait to get into the weeds with and get into the heads of these characters</em>“, referring to director <strong>Chloé Zhao</strong>, who was accompanied by <strong>Maggie O’Farrell</strong> as the screenwriter.</p>



<p>The film will follow the life of Agnes, Shakespeare’s wife, who struggles to overcome the loss of their only son, Hamnet. It’s a human and heart-wrenching story set against the backdrop of the creation of Shakespeare’s most famous work, “Hamlet”.</p>



<h5>Merrily We Roll Along</h5>



<p>Paul is ready to immerse himself once again in a musical, and soon it will be his turn for the film adaptation of <strong>Merrily We Roll Along</strong>. There, he will bring to life Franklin Shepard, alongside<strong> Beanie Feldstein</strong> and <strong>Ben Platt</strong> in the roles of Mary Flynn and Charley Kringas.</p>



<p>The film is a musical comedy about coming of age and will be directed by <strong>Richard Linklater</strong>. It is based on the musical by <strong>Stephen Sondheim</strong> and <strong>George Furth</strong>, which debuted in 1981 and is, in turn, adapted from the 1934 play of the same name by <strong>George S. Kaufman</strong> and <strong>Moss Hart</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Jason Blum</strong> has joined the project as a producer to bring the film to life under his company, Blumhouse Productions. The story follows Shepard, a talented Broadway composer who leaves his theatrical career in New York and all his friends to produce movies in Los Angeles.</p>



<p>The narrative unfolds over 20 years in reverse chronological order, so it was announced that the production would be filmed every two years to reflect the characters’ ages over those 20 years, similar to “Boyhood”, which was filmed over 12 years and also directed by Linklater.</p>



<p>Filming was halted in 2023 due to the writers and actors’ strike, so it has not been confirmed whether it has resumed or when it will. This means there is still no scheduled release date, indicating that we may have to wait quite a while to finally see the title on the big screen.</p>



<h5>The History of Sound</h5>



<p>The actor continues with LGBT romantic dramas, and this time it’s the adaptation of <strong>Oliver Hermanus</strong>‘s <strong>The History of Sound</strong>. Scripted by Ben Shattuck, the film will bring Mescal to the screen as Lionel and <strong>Josh O’Connor</strong> as David.</p>



<p>The story is set during World War I and follows two young men who set out to record the lives, voices, and music of their fellow Americans.</p>

<p>The <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/category/films">film</a></strong> was directed by choreographer <strong>Benjamin Millepied</strong> in his directorial debut. It is loosely based on the iconic 1875 opera by <strong>Georges Bizet</strong>, which in turn is inspired by <strong>Prosper Mérimée’s novella.</strong> Set in the present day along the Mexico-U.S. border, it follows Carmen (Barrera) as she travels from Mexico to Los Angeles looking for freedom, and her romance with <strong>Aidan (Mescal)</strong>, a Marine with PTSD.</p>



<h2>Mescal showcase his musical talent in ‘Carmen’</h2>



<p>Mescal filmed this movie at the same time as<strong> “Aftersun,” </strong>the drama for which he got his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor. The Irish star, who is also known for the BBC series “Normal People,” showcases his musical talent by singing, playing guitar and dancing in “Carmen.”</p>

And he’s one of those actors that are just good at everything. <strong>Probably he could do anything</strong>,” </em>she told People Magazine.</p>



<p>Millepied, a former <strong>Director of Dance at the Paris Opera</strong>, is known for his work in the ballet sequences in “<strong>Black Swan.</strong>” Here, he teams up with composer Nicholas Britell (Succession, Moonlight, Andor) who created new songs for the movie with <strong>Julieta Venegas</strong> and<strong> Taura Stinson.</strong></p>

<p>The film received mixed reviews, with critics praising the performances of the cast, as well as the <strong>choreography </strong>and <strong>style.</strong> However, many found the story an emotionally hollow adaptation of the tragic novella.</p>

<p>Garth Davis’ <strong>Foe</strong> is one of the most watched movies on <strong>Prime Video</strong> this week, just behind Saltburn, according to FlixPatrol. The film was released on Jan. 5, and it stars Oscar-nominated actors <strong>Paul Mescal</strong> and <strong>Saoirse Ronan</strong>.</p>



<p>It’s a sci-fi psychological thriller which follows a married couple, Hen and Junior, living on a farm in the near future. Their lives take an unexpected turn when a visitor reveals that Terrence will embark on a space mission, and Hen will be provided with an <strong>AI companion</strong> during his absence.</p>



<p>The script, co-written by <strong>Davis and Iain Reid</strong>, is based on Reid’s 2018 novel of the same name. It premiered back in September at the New York Film Festival, and it had a theatrical run. While it didn’t make much noise at the box office, it seems like it will be one of the hits for the platform.</p>



<h2>Foe wasn’t well received by critics</h2>



<p>Part of the reason that the film didn’t do well at the box office is that it wasn’t well received by critics. It currently has a <strong>23% of approval on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes</strong>. Some reviews called the film “constrived,” “melodramatic” and not entirely original.</p>

<p>However, all the critics agree that Mescal and Ronan’s performances elevate the material, even a crazy plot twist by the end of the film. It’s not surprising, especially as both Irish actors are some of the most acclaimed of their generation.</p>



<p>This is Ronan’s most recent feature, after starring in the comedy See How They Run (2022). She has two other projects in post-production. One is the historical drama <strong>Blitz</strong>, which will be directed by Steve MQueen, and the other is <strong>The Outrun</strong>, which she is also producing.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, Mescal is currently promoting the fantasy drama <strong>All Of Us Strangers</strong>, in which he stars alongside Andrew Scott, Claire Foy and Jamie Bell. He already filmed <strong>Gladiator’s sequel</strong>, directed by Ridley Scott.</p>
