The film follows a woman who pauses her career to be a stay-at-home mom, but soon her domesticity takes a surreal turn. In the novel, the woman sometimes transforms into a dog. The book has been positively received by critics, and described as “a stunning modern feminist fable” (Jordan Snowden, The Seattle Times).

Adams also wrapped production on 3000 Pictures’ Klara and the Sun, the next film from Oscar winner Taika Waititi, which adapts the dystopian sci-fi story from Kazuo Ishiguro. Jenna Ortega, Mia Tharia, Aran Murphy, Natasha Lyonne, Simon Baker and Harry Greenwood complete the cast.

Kristen Wiig is returning to sunny Palm Beach as <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/apple-tv-plus">Apple TV+</a> renewed “Palm Royale” for a second season. The series has become one of the platform’s most successful shows this year, currently ranking as the third most-watched show on the platform worldwide according to FlixPatrol.

The show is loosely based on Juliet McDaniel’s novel “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie.” Set in the 1960s, it follows Maxine Simmons (Wiig) as she tries to break into Palm Beach high society with her fabulous ensembles, accessories, and quick wit.

Quickly climbing to the top spot on the platform worldwide, it appears the streamer has hit its mark once again. The title has been lauded by both the public and critics, praised for reviving classic shark tropes. And once again, we’re left pondering the same question we did in 1975: How much of it is real?



<h2>Is ‘Under Paris’ based on real events?</h2>



In the film, it’s the summer of 2024, and Paris is hosting the World Triathlon Championships for the first time, taking place in the Seine. Suddenly, Sophia, a unique and brilliant scientist, discovers a very large shark swimming deep in the river and must do everything she can to prevent a disaster.

Although the production isn’t explicitly based on a true story, an almost identical incident to that depicted in it occurred in 2022 when a porbeagle shark, a species that typically inhabits colder waters, was found in the Seine River near Rouen.



And there are many other similar cases, since “Under Paris” aims to highlight the very common environmental contamination processes that force species to leave their native habitats. In the picture, Lilith, the protagonist shark, arrives in France’s most important river after pollution makes her home uninhabitable, echoing situations like the real-life case of a great white shark that ended up in the Hudson River in 1933.



So, while there isn’t a real-life scientist like Sophia who tried to stop a shark from causing a bloodbath in the Seine during a swimming competition, the movie draws inspiration from many real events.

His next starring role in a new film adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s seminal novel “A Farewell to Arms.” Directed and written by Michael Winterbottom (“Welcome to Sarajevo,” “Wonderland”), the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/movies">movie</a> features Blyth as the lead character, Frederic Henry, a young volunteer ambulance driver for the Italian Army during World War I. After being wounded, he falls in love with his nurse.

“A Farewell to Arms” is set to start shooting in Italy later this year. “As a long-time fan of Hemingway’s writing and Michael Winterbottom’s filmmaking, this is a dream project,” Blyth said in a statement.

Blyth will also star in this historical drama. Set in 1990s New York and inspired by true events, the story follows a working-class undercover officer who is tasked with entrapping and apprehending gay men, only to find himself drawn to one of his targets.

The film will be directed by Brett Haley. Filming is expected to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Barcelona, Spain. “I’ve been kind of an anxious wreck about who would play these characters,” Henry told Netflix. “I truly could not feel more confident that my readers and then so many more people who don’t even know about the book are going to completely fall in love with Poppy and Alex.”

South Korean series have gained worldwide popularity thanks to their addictive storylines. And a new addition to the genre is the “Pyramid Game,” a new thriller series that is triumphing on <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/paramount-plus">Paramount+</a> globally.



According to FlixPatrol, the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/series">series</a> is the number one show on the platform worldwide, surpassing titles such as “NCSI: Los Angeles” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” The show debuted on May 30, and in only four days it has climbed the charts.



“Pyramid Game” combines the elements of an ambitious thriller with the storylines of a high school drama. We could compare it to other shows of the same style such as Netflix’s “Elite” and “Outer Banks.” Here’s what to know about this new hit <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/thriller">thriller</a> series.



<h2>All you need to know about ‘Pyramid Game’</h2>



The series was created by Lee Jae-gyun, written by Choi Soo-i, and directed by Park So-yeon. It stars Kim Ji-yeon, known for her roles in other successful K-dramas such as Twenty-Five Twenty-One (2022) and Joseon Attorney (2023). Jang Da-ah, Ryu Da-in, Shin Seul-ki, and Kang Na-eon complete the main cast.



“Pyramid Game” is based on the Naver webtoon of the same name by Dalgonyak. It follows transfer student Seong Soo-ji, who now studies in an all-girls high school where popularity polls are used to rank students in class. When she falls to the bottom of the class, she attempts to climb the social ladder out of desperation to save herself from bullying and put an end to the Pyramid Game.

The series was originally aired on TVING from February to March, and consists of ten episodes. The rest of the cast also includes Jeong Ha-dam, Hwang Hyun-jung, Lee Joo-yeon, Oh Se-eun, Kim Se-hee, Choi Yoon-seo, Ahn So-yo, Son Ji-na, Son Ji-young, Yoon Ga-i, Song Xi-an,Cho Dong-in, Jeong Ae-yeon, Jung Seung-gil, and Lee Da-kyung.



When it comes to reviews, the series has been positively received. For example, Carmen Chin of NME described the series as “brutal watch,” and stated that, despite its failed premise, the K-drama “is still a worthwhile thriller that keeps you at the edge of your seat.”

Based on the 2022 novel “Mickey7” by Edward Ashton, the adaptation will focus on Mickey17, an “Expendable” robot sent to a frozen planet for colonization, who refuses to let his replacement clone, Mickey8, take his place.

Ever since Deadline reported on August 28 last year about the fierce battle between Amazon and <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a> for the rights to “Crime 101,” the project has remained in the constant spotlight, even though pre-production has barely begun. A release date has yet to be disclosed.



Helmed by Bart Layton, known for his work on the 2018 biographical <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a> “American Animals” and his innovative storytelling techniques, this project will adapt Don Winslow’s famous novella “Crime 101.” It tells the tale of a series of luxury jewelry thefts along the Pacific coast that remain unsolved due to a code named as the title of the work.



While Mark Ruffalo’s involvement in the project is listed as “rumored” on IMDb, sources close to the production suggest that it is very close to becoming a reality. Additionally, <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/barry-keoghan">Barry Keoghan</a> and <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/Chris-Hemsworth">Chris Hemsworth</a> are also rumored to star.



Untitled Brad Ingelsby/HBO Drama Series – TBA



With Brad Ingelsby, the mastermind behind “Mare of Easttown” and “The Way Back,” teaming up with Mark Ruffalo, we don’t even need a title or a specific release date (which, in fact, we don’t have yet). To know that they will collaborate is more than enough.

Though details about this production are scarce, we know it will be a crime drama miniseries for <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/max">Max</a>, consisting of eight episodes. It will follow the “Poor Things” star as FBI Agent Tom, who leads a team in a Philadelphia suburb to dismantle a series of drug-house robberies orchestrated by an unsuspecting family man.



We also do know every detail about its cast. Tom Pelphrey, Owen Teague, Emilia Jones, Sam Keeley, and Alison Oliver are just a few of the performers set to be involved.



Now You See Me 3 – TBA



This is undoubtedly Mark Ruffalo’s most anticipated project. The third installment about the Four Horsemen and their adventures still lacks a confirmed release date, but reportedly began pre-production in April. If all goes well, we might even expect it in the last months of 2024!



While the plot remains tightly under wraps, it’s highly likely that the creators will deliver what fans love most about the franchise once again: illusionists pulling off complex tricks to save themselves.



What’s important to note is that the beloved main cast is back, from Mark Ruffalo to Jesse Eisenberg. Additionally, intriguing additions include Rosamund Pike and Dominic Sessa from “The Holdovers.”
