“The Menendez Brothers” were not on the creators’ minds until “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” premiered on September 19. After the show turned into a big <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/topic/drama">drama</a>, Netflix got to work.



It all started after Erik and Lyle Menendez, who are currently 53 and 56 years old, learned about the events depicted in the episodes and said that some things portrayed in the series had not actually happened.



Erik’s wife posted a statement on X sharing her partner’s words, in which he criticized the production the day after its premiere, describing the <a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/tv">television</a> title as “disheartening slander“. He also said:
