




<p>After her triumphant role in <strong>Everything Everywhere All At Once</strong>, <strong>Michelle Yeoh </strong>has turned her interest in TV. The Oscar-winner not only recently appeared in the canceled <strong>American Born Chinese</strong> on Disney+, but she is now the star of Netflix’s action series <strong>The Brothers Sun.</strong></p>



<p>The eight-part series explores the turmoil that hits a <strong>Taiwanese crime family</strong> when a mysterious assassin shows up. Things get even more complicated when the younger brother, who didn’t know about the <strong>family’s dark secrets</strong>, has to step up and take control.</p>

<p>While <strong><a href="https://spoiler.bolavip.com/en/netflix">Netflix</a> </strong>hasn’t renewed the series for a second season officially, creators Byron Wu and Brad Falchuk have talked about their desire to continue the story. However, as they say, it all will depend on viewership.</p>



<h2>The Brothers Sun: What creators hope for a Season 2</h2>



<p>Talking with Netflix’s Tudum, Wu and Falchuk said that <em>“The end of the season is a happy moment for the family, but when you’re living as a gangster, <strong>you can never truly relax</strong>.” </em>Meanwhile, executive producer and director Kevin Tancharoen added, “<em>This is actually just the first step in a longer journey.”</em></p>

<p>On the other hand, when they were asked by Deadline about a potential release date, Wu said:<em> “<strong>Listen, we’d love to do season 2</strong>. Let’s hope we get those Netflix numbers going. And for me, I’m just hoping we get season two. This is my first, well I don’t know, show.”</em></p>



<p>In a potential Season 2, Wu and Falchuk think that <em>“The Sun family will <strong>struggle to maintain those clearly defined roles</strong>,” </em>as they explained to Netflix’s Tudum. Yeoh plays Eileen Sun, with Justin Chien portraying killer Charles Chairleg Sun. Meanwhile, Sam Song Li plays the naive Bruce Sun.</p>

<p>The series just premiered five days ago, but it has grown in audience. According to the website <strong>FlixPatrol</strong>, which collects viewership data, the series is currently the <strong>third most-watched this week globally</strong>, just behind Fool Me Once and Money Heist: Berlin. It’s early to say if Netflix will announce a renewal, but the platform has renewed series within a week of their release.</p>

<p>The nominations for the <strong>2024 SAG Awards</strong>, which will take place on Feb. 24, are in… And there are big snubs and surprises. Especially the total absence of May December actors, particularly <strong>Charles Melton</strong>, Succession’s <strong>Jeremy Strong</strong> and Past Lives’ star <strong>Greta Lee.</strong></p>



<p>As many SAG-AFTRA members are also voters of the Academy, winners often solidify their chances for the <strong>Oscars. </strong>That’s why these nominations could also change the rest of the awards season. With that in mind, <strong>Charles Melton</strong> (May December) delivered one of the most acclaimed performances of the year, but didn’t get a nod. </p>

The rest of the nominees are favorites <strong>Robert Downey Jr.</strong> (Oppenheimer), <strong>Ryan Gosling</strong> (Barbie), <strong>Robert De Niro</strong> (Killers of the Flower Moon), and <strong>Willem Dafoe</strong> (Poor Things).</p>



<h2>Greta Lee and Leonardo DiCaprio, snubbed</h2>



<p>Other surprising absences in the line-up were <strong>Greta Lee</strong>, who starred in Celine Song’s <strong>Past Lives.</strong> The actress was nominated for a Golden Globe and Critics Choice too.<strong> Sandra Hüller</strong>, who starred in the French court drama Anatomy of a Fall, also wasn’t considered despite also competing for Golden Globe and Critics Choice.</p>



<p><strong>Lily Gladstone</strong> (Killers of the Flower Moon), <strong>Carey Mulligan </strong>(Maestro), and <strong>Emma Stone </strong>(Poor Things) were the expected nominees, and they got nods. However, <strong>Margot Robbie </strong>(Barbie) and <strong>Annette Bening</strong> (NYAD) completed the line-up. </p>

<h2>TV: Jeremy Strong’s snub was a big surprise</h2>



<p>In TV, the biggest surprise was Jeremy Strong’s absence in the category of Male Actor for a Drama series. Instead, his Successions co-stars<strong> Brian Cox</strong>, <strong>Kieran Culkin</strong>, who recently won the Golden Globe, and <strong>Matthew Macfadyen</strong> (who also won the Golden Globe but for Best Supporting Actor) were nominated. <h2>The Bear and Succession are favorites to win Emmys</h2>



<p>Typically held in September, the Emmy Awards were delayed due to the Hollywood actors’ and writers’ strike. That’s why there might be confusion surrounding the ceremony. However, shows such as <strong>The Bear</strong> and <strong>Succession</strong>, which already won big during the Golden Globes, are also favorites for the Emmy.</p>



<p>There’s an important distinction, though. <p>Courtney leads the popular clique called ‘The Flawless Four,’ creating a fearful atmosphere in the school and bullying other students.
