Despite its popularity on the platform, the movie received mostly negative reviews from critics, scoring a <strong>19% of approval on Rotten Tomatoes.</strong></p>

<p>Garth Davis’ <strong>Foe</strong> is one of the most watched movies on <strong>Prime Video</strong> this week, just behind Saltburn, according to FlixPatrol. The film was released on Jan. 5, and it stars Oscar-nominated actors <strong>Paul Mescal</strong> and <strong>Saoirse Ronan</strong>.</p>



<p>It’s a sci-fi psychological thriller which follows a married couple, Hen and Junior, living on a farm in the near future. Their lives take an unexpected turn when a visitor reveals that Terrence will embark on a space mission, and Hen will be provided with an <strong>AI companion</strong> during his absence.</p>



<p>The script, co-written by <strong>Davis and Iain Reid</strong>, is based on Reid’s 2018 novel of the same name. It premiered back in September at the New York Film Festival, and it had a theatrical run. While it didn’t make much noise at the box office, it seems like it will be one of the hits for the platform.</p>



<h2>Foe wasn’t well received by critics</h2>



<p>Part of the reason that the film didn’t do well at the box office is that it wasn’t well received by critics. It currently has a <strong>23% of approval on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes</strong>. Some reviews called the film “constrived,” “melodramatic” and not entirely original.</p>

<p>However, all the critics agree that Mescal and Ronan’s performances elevate the material, even a crazy plot twist by the end of the film. It’s not surprising, especially as both Irish actors are some of the most acclaimed of their generation.</p>



<p>This is Ronan’s most recent feature, after starring in the comedy See How They Run (2022). She has two other projects in post-production. One is the historical drama <strong>Blitz</strong>, which will be directed by Steve MQueen, and the other is <strong>The Outrun</strong>, which she is also producing.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, Mescal is currently promoting the fantasy drama <strong>All Of Us Strangers</strong>, in which he stars alongside Andrew Scott, Claire Foy and Jamie Bell. He already filmed <strong>Gladiator’s sequel</strong>, directed by Ridley Scott.</p>

<p>The second season is based on Bad Luck and Trouble (2007), the eleventh book of <strong>Lee Child’s series. </strong>The story follows Reacher as he investigates and seeks revenge for the murders of his old military unit.</p>

<p><strong>Saltburn</strong> is not only the film of the moment but was also one of the most anticipated titles of 2023 among <strong>Prime Video</strong> users. Following its addition to the platform’s catalog, <strong>Emerald Fennell</strong>‘s new drama quickly rose to become a trend, both on social media and within the streaming service.</p>



<p>The dark comedy boasted a stellar cast, featuring familiar faces and new talents alike. <strong>Barry Keoghan</strong>, <strong>Jacob Elordi</strong>, <strong>Rosamund Pike</strong> and <strong>Richard E. Grant</strong> were some of the figures who portrayed the main characters in this story filled with lust, power, excess, and quite uncomfortable intimate scenes.</p>



<p>Undoubtedly, it has been categorized as one of the most controversial productions of the year. <p>As expected, the film is filled with hits of all kinds, ranging from 90s pop to some more classic melodies. All the tracks are equally iconic, and one of the highlights has been the anthem <em><strong>Zadok the Priest</strong></em>, which is played in a scene that has been commented on by viewers on several occasions.</p>



<p>The filmmaker spoke with Radiotimes before the release and shared a bit about the creation of the soundtrack, where she stated, <em>“Music, in general, is very, very important to me. It’s a big part of the writing process, and then there will be lots of songs in the script to know where we are, like these kind of anchor points”</em>.</p>

<h2>Who was in charge of the score and how is it composed?</h2>



<p>Many times, a film’s soundtrack is not the only thing that contributes to making the story top-notch and highly acclaimed; the score plays a significant role as well. This time, the score was composed by <strong>Anthony Willis</strong>, who also worked on the music for <em>Promising Young Woman</em>, Fennell’s directorial debut.</p>



<p>The composer spoke with Radiotimes about the responsibility of taking on the project and confessed, <em>“I don’t want to give too much away, but the score is [for] the audience to explore what we want to know about Oliver. He goes to Oxford, thinks his life is going to be perfect, and then he falls madly in love with Felix. It’s really about managing what you feel for him at any given moment”</em>.</p>
