Freedom” is the upcoming romantic action thriller set to join the Prime Video catalog in November, starring Lucas Bravo (Emily in Paris) as a popular criminal figure who existed in real life: Bruno Sulak.

Mélanie Laurent, the actress known for Inglourious Basterds and talented filmmaker, directed the new movie and co-wrote the script with Christophe Deslandes (Voleuses and Le bal des folles).

The story, inspired by real events, portrays how Sulak becomes a symbol of defiance against authority, driven by an insatiable thirst for freedom and the love he shares with his partner, Annie (played by Léa Luce Busato).

Where is Bruno Sulak?

Bruno Sulak, the real-life figure upon whom Lucas Bravo’s character in Freedom is based, is no longer alive. He was a notorious French criminal who carried out a series of non-violent jewelry heists in the 1980s.
