Emily Bader and Edward Bluemel are just two of the actors who joined forces to bring to life Prime Video’s new romantic adaptation: My Lady Jane, which is based on a popular best-selling novel.

The three authors offer an alternative version of the story in which Lady Jane Grey, instead of being executed as she was in real history, is a young woman with a different destiny: she saves herself and the kingdom.

As expected, the series was a worldwide success, not only because it is one of the most original works but also because of the incredible landscapes and eccentric set designs featured in each episode.

Where was Prime Video’s My Lady Jane shot?

Prime Video‘s My Lady Jane has stood for its landscapes and multiple castles. The filming set took place in various locations and noble houses, but East Sussex, Ashridge Estate and Banbury were the main ones.

According to Condé Nast Traveler, art director Will Hughes-Jones and location manager Bill Dardy traveled from Cornwall to Derbyshire over three weeks to find the perfect locations for the story.

The locations were chosen with great care, as the story intertwined elements of comedy and fantasy, requiring specific landscapes as well as interior decorations, especially because of the amount of luxury in England at that time.

The magazine itself reported that the interiors were built on set, allowing them the luxury of letting their imagination run wild without losing focus on the historical reality that the narrative possesses.

The professionals explained: “For the tapestries, for example, we used very bright and vivid colors as they would have been at the time. When you see them now, the colors are muted by the passage of time”.
