Ti West is one of the most talented horror directors of the last decade, and everything he touches turns to gold. That’s why it’s no surprise to see “Pearl,” the second part of his “X” trilogy, ranking among the top movies on Prime Video in the United States.
Although West has directed many other genre gems for both the small and big screens, the three-part movie series he has been working on since 2022 has captivated everyone’s attention. Much of this is likely due to Mia Goth being the absolute star of the trilogy.
The actress works hard to establish her unique style of performance in the entertainment industry, and it’s safe to say she has been doing it excellently. Her being cast in a lead role in the upcoming Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein” speaks volumes about her talent.
‘Pearl’ with Mia Goth ranks #5 in Prime Video US
With “MaXXXine” just around the corner, the previous installments of its trilogy are being intensely rewatched. Thus, it was a matter of time for “Pearl” to rank Top 5 on Prime Video in the United States.

Amazingly, it has managed to surpass “The Holdovers,” despite it being one of the fan favorites from the last edition of the Oscars. But it clearly won’t outshine “The Blue Angels,” Glenn Powell’s recently released production about the Navy and Marine Corps flight squadron.
In this installment, Pearl is stuck on her family’s remote farm and has to take care of her sick father while her strict and bitter mother watches over her. She dreams of a glamorous life like the ones she sees in movies and will do anything to succeed.
Most critics agreed that “Pearl” was better than its predecessor, even comparing Mia Goth’s acting to that of Shelley Duvall in “The Shining.” Additionally, it was a box office hit, grossing $10 million worldwide against the initial $1 million budget.
When asked if there would be a fourth movie for the franchise, Ti West said he was open to the possibility, although he had nothing in mind yet. We will keep you updated on the matter!
