Now that romantic comedies are back in full swing, streaming platforms have been increasingly betting on these titles, and Prime Video just did so by adding Nicholas Fabiano and Richard Alan Reid’s Puppy Love to its catalog.

The movie starring Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin has shown promising potential on the service, having recently solidified its position as the third most-watched film globally at the moment, displacing My Fault and Freelance.

Despite the drama receiving mixed reviews, sometimes labeled as unoriginal or boring, the story unfolds with freshness and has funny moments between the protagonists that will endear you to them.

Puppy Love became No. 3 movie on Prime Video

Comedy, drama, romance and lots of puppies are some of the elements that have made this movie special. So much so that it’s the new Top 3 globally on Prime Video and remains within the top 5.

According to the platform-specialized site Flix Patrol, Puppy Love has won over streaming service users after several days of being available in the catalog, garnering thousands of new views.

The story follows Nicole and Max, who, after a disastrous first date, vow to trade numbers until their dogs find a match. They are forced to become responsible co-parents but end up finding love themselves.

Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin joined forces for the first time to star in this heartwarming plot, but they weren’t the only talents in the cast; they were accompanied by Michael Hitchcock and Jane Seymour.

Nick Fabiano (Other Dads) and Richard Alan Reid (EXmas and The Black Demon) were responsible for directing, working from a screenplay developed by Greg Glienna, Peter Stass, Kirsten Guenther and Dan Scheinkman.
