Can’t wait another minute for “Gladiator II”? Peacock has brought you the new epic sword and sandal series to satisfy your excitement. “Those About to Die” has already arrived on the streaming platform, with all ten episodes released.

Set in Rome in the year the show revolves around Emperor Vespasian, portrayed by Anthony Hopkins, in the final years of his life. The drama unfolds as it becomes crucial to determine which of his two sons, Titus or Domitian, will succeed him, each with contrasting views on rulership and life itself.

Adapted from Daniel P. Mannix‘s book, the production has already garnered significant attention, with viewers eagerly anticipating news of the second season’s release.

All on the release date for the second season of ‘Those About to Die’

If the last episode of the first season, titled “Let the Games Begin,” wasn’t enough to confirm a second season, its finale certainly sets the stage for further development.

In the tenth episode, the question of who will become the new emperor is resolved as Titus is killed and Domitian ascends to the throne, with Tenax aligning himself with the new ruler. As is typical in sword and sandal productions, a new emperor’s rise always sparks conflict and schemes from enemies eager to seize power. In other words, it’s just the beginning!

So, when can we expect Season 2 of “Those About to Die” to be released? Given that Peacock ordered the show in 2022 and it involved an enormous team and a $140 million budget to bring to life, replicating such an effort will likely take at least a year.

The process began with filming in March 2023, and considering the 16-month timeline from filming to airing for the first season, we can expect a similar timeframe for the second part. This suggests that Season 2 could premiere around November 2025. Stay tuned for updates!
