When it comes to television classics, “Vikings” (which was aired from 2013 to 2020) undoubtedly makes the list, not only becoming one of the most-watched series but also trending again on Netflix.

Each episode combines drama, action and historical elements to tell the story of the Vikings and their impact on the medieval world. Travis Fimmel (Warcraft) portrays the iconic Ragnar Lothbrok.

As the seasons progress, the storyline introduces each of Ragnar’s descendants. The first male child was Bjorn Ironside, portrayed by Alexander Ludwig (The Hunger Games) until the end of the TV show.

Vikings ranked No. 7 series on Netflix US

The drama created by Michael Hirst, which ran for six seasons, has come back to life thanks to Netflix users, as it has solidified itself as the seventh most-watched series in the catalog in the United States.

According to Flix Patrol, the title that concluded in 2020 returned as one of the strongest trends on the streaming giant, managing to secure a place within the American Top 10 and displacing other productions.

Throughout its run, “Vikings” gained popularity and became one of the standout series in the historical drama genre. The narrative is set in the 8th century and unfolds in Scandinavia and later in other parts of Europe.

As they explore new lands, engage in epic battles, and face political and personal challenges. Also shows the complexities of politics and war in medieval Europe, depicting power struggles among different kingdoms and Viking leaders.

Travis Fimmel is the one who brought Ragnar Lothbrok to life for 45 episodes, while Alexander Ludwig joined him as Bjorn Lothbrok and Katheryn Winnick portrayed the great Lagertha, one of history’s greatest female shieldmaidens.
