The Postcard Killings,’ a crime thriller starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is currently the number 1 movie on Netflix in the US, according to the specialized website FlixPatrol. The film has been climbing the charts during the week. In just two days, the movie skyrocketed from the eighth spot to clinch the top position.

Is ‘The Postcard Killings’ based on a true story?

The film follows Detective Kanon, who has to investigate a series of murders in Europe. They are all connected trough postcards sent to local journalists before the crimes are committed. To try to find the person or group responsible for the crimes, Kanon teams up with journalist Lombard.

As there are many crime thrillers based on true stories or true serial killers, there are many people wondering if there’s any truth behind the film. However, that’s not the case. The movie was based on Liza Marklund and James Patterson’s novel of the same name. Andrew Stern and Ellen Furman adapted the script.
