Among Netflix’s new trending titles, there is the romantic K-drama “Queen of Tears,” which according to FlixPatrol, is the ninth most-watched title on the platform worldwide. The series premiered on March 9, but new episodes arrive weekly.

“Queen of Tears” was written by Park Ji Eun, whose previous credits’ include the beloved series “Crash Landing on You,” “My Love From the Star” and “The Producers.” Like those titles, the series also features a romance for the ages.

Described as a “miraculous, thrilling, and humorous love story,” the series follows a married couple who manage to survive a crisis and stay together against all odds. The show is part of tvN’s licensing agreement with Netflix and the network.

What is ‘Queen of Hearts’ about?

The series portrays the tumultuous crisis and remarkable resurgence of love between Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won), a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo (played by Kim Soo-hyun), the son of farmers from Yongdu-ri, throughout their three-year marriage.

Kim Soo-hyun, who plays Baek Hyun-woo, is known for his roles in “My Love from the Star,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.” Meanwhile, Kim Ji-won’s most known titles include “The Heirs,” “Descendants of the Sun,” and “Fight for My Way.”
