With only eight episodes, “The 8 Show” has become one of the most captivating Korean drama shows of the year. Thus, it’s no surprise to see it as the No. 4 series on Netflix worldwide.

Although it hasn’t matched the success of “Squid Game” yet, it’s definitely on a similar trajectory. Unlike its predecessor, it focuses on fewer characters, allowing for a more introspective development of each one.

As is common with many Asian productions, this title is based on Naver Webtoons. “Money Game” and “Pie Game” by Bae Jin-soo served as the inspiration for the Netflix series, and each one spanned more than 50 episodes.

It has remarkably managed to surpass “Thank You, Next” and “Bodkin,” two of the most captivating titles in the catalog. However, it might be challenging to outshine “Baby Reindeer” or “Bridgerton,” which are absolute successes in every country where Netflix is available.

“The 8 Show” revolves around eight financially struggling individuals participating in a reality competition for a substantial cash prize. Confined in a mysterious eight-floor building, the contestants engage in dangerous challenges that become increasingly lucrative as the show progresses.

It features some of the most famous Korean actors and actresses of the moment, including Chun Woo-hee, Ryu Jun-yeol, Lee Joo-young, Park Hae-joon, Moon Jeong-Hee, and others.
