The X-Men are finally entering a new chapter in the MCU. Following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox and years of carefully laying the groundwork for mutants, Marvel Studios has begun unveiling the first members of its long-awaited reboot.
Recent announcements, including Sadie Sink as Jean Grey and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, signal that the next generation of mutants is starting to take shape under director Jake Schreier.
Which X-Men characters have been cast so far?
Marvel Studios has officially confirmed three major mutant castings so far—Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost and Kit Connor as Cyclops—while several other high-profile names continue to be linked to the project through industry reports.
The biggest confirmed addition is Sadie Sink, who made her MCU debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Her introduction marks the first official appearance of one of Marvel’s most iconic mutants in the MCU and is widely seen as the foundation for the upcoming X-Men reboot.
Marvel has also reportedly cast Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, the powerful telepath and longtime X-Men ally whose complicated history with Charles Xavier’s team has made her one of the franchise’s most popular characters. Multiple trade outlets report that Weaving landed the role after an extensive casting process.
Another major addition is Kit Connor, who has been cast as Scott Summers/Cyclops. The Heartstopper star is set to play the longtime leader of the X-Men. In Marvel Comics, Cyclops and Jean Grey share one of the franchise’s most iconic relationships, making their casting a significant step toward establishing the team’s core lineup.
Beyond those names, several actors are rumored to be joining the film. Cailee Spaeny has been linked to Rogue, Charles Melton is rumored to play Beast, Adam Driver has been connected to the villain Mr. Sinister and Tramell Tillman is expected to portray William Metzger, a character already introduced in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
