Woman of the Hour will mark the highly anticipated directorial debut of Anna Kendrick, as she not only stars as the lead in this creepy film but also helms a story based on real events, combining psychological thriller and crime.
The disturbing story portrays the infamous case of the “Dating Game Killer”, Rodney Alcala, a serial killer who shockingly participated in and won a dating game show on television in 1978.
The Netflix new title follows the events leading up to and following Alcala’s appearance on the show, while exploring his manipulations and the disconnect between his on-screen behavior and his real life as a predator.
Woman of the Hour rumored cast salary
To bring such a heartfelt story like “Woman of the Hour” to life (which will arrive on Netflix on October 18), great talent was needed in front of the camera, as well as a solid budget to pay the high salaries of its leading stars.
Showbiz Galore, a site specialized in celebrity earnings (though unofficial and based on rumors from close sources), reported that the dramatic thriller had a budget of $15 million, which also covered production costs.
If the information is accurate, Anna Kendrick earned a base salary of $3 million, not only for being the lead actress but also for directing the project. This would make her the highest-paid member of the cast.
