One of the greatest horror icons of the last two decades returns as Mia Goth reprises her role in Ti West‘s beloved trilogy with “MaXXXine,” the final installment of the film franchise.
It serves as a sequel to its predecessors, “Pearl” and “X”. Here, Maxine finally has the opportunity to become a Hollywood star in 1980. However, her ambitions are soon obstructed by a mysterious killer who threatens not only her life but also could expose her sinister past.
Unlike the last two movies set in rural areas, “MaXXXine” has the unique distinction of being filmed in urban settings. Explore all the locations that contributed to the picture’s atmosphere.

According to Filmiloc, the filming locations include the iconic Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, providing the perfect backdrop for the story of a girl determined to become a star at any cost.
Another notable setting is The Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites, where Maxine experiences moments of touching the sky with her own hands, indulging in the luxury life of a celebrity.
However, not all scenes are set amidst skyscrapers and concrete. Parts of the film also take place in Santa Clarita, California, featuring open skies reminiscent of the protagonist’s past.
Last but not least is the iconic Bates Motel at Universal Studios in California. This connection suggests a direct link to “Psycho” by Alfred Hitchcock. Audiences are left to speculate on the significance of this association in the production, whether it’s merely an Easter egg or plays a more pivotal role.
