Adventure, horror and mystery are some of the elements David Henrie has brought together for his new film, which stars major industry names: Mel Gibson as Gene, Mason Thames as Noah and Kevin James.

Monster Summer” focuses on when a mysterious force begins to disrupt their summer fun, Noah and his friends team up with a retired police detective to embark on a monstrous adventure to save their island.

Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano are the ones responsible for developing the script for the drama. The project will not mark the directorial debut of the Wizards of Waverly Place actor, as that occurred in 2020 with “This Is the Year”.

David Henrie (who reaped a large net worth), director of the horror comedy, spoke with The Wrap about this new project and, in a statement, discussed the background of the story, revealing some details. He said:

Historically, fairy tales used monsters to personify our deepest fears while also empowering young people to overcome them. Now more than ever, we need narratives that inspire courage in the face of darkness. Boys of Summer is a nostalgic story that evokes the magic of childhood as its heroes battle old and new monsters”.
