Michael Cera and Kristen Stewart, who achieved international fame with the youth saga Twilight, are just two of the stars forming the cast of one of the most anticipated dramas: Sacramento, the new film by Michael Angarano.

The story narrates the initiatory road trip of two friends that will lead them to cross the state of California from Sacramento to Los Angeles to shed light on their future and rethink the impact of the past on their lives.

Sacramento finally has an estimated release date, and according to various sources, the dramedy will debut on the big screen in June 2024, although the exact day has not yet been revealed.

The official synopsis describes “Rickey, an energetic and free-spirited young man who convinces Glenn, his settled-in-life old friend, to embark on an impromptu road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento”.

Kristen Stewart and Michael Cera are not the only stars of the movie; they will share the spotlight with Michael Angarano and Maya Erskine. The super talented cast also includes figures like A.J. Mendez and Rosalind Chao.

Angarano himself, who will bring Rickey to life and also direct the comedy, will carry out the project based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Chris Smith, after both authors experienced a work rejection.

“We feel grateful and excited to be able to make a film like ‘Sacramento’. Chris Smith and I started writing this script years ago after our pilot episode wasn’t chosen”, he confessed to Deadline.
