What makes the legacy of Karate Kid unique is its ability to resonate with different generations, and it will now make a big return to the big screen with a new movie titled “Karate Kid: Legends“, which will be the sixth in the saga.
The combination of action, martial arts, teenage drama and life lessons has kept the franchise as an undeniable reference in cinematic culture, which is why several of its actors will return once again.
The movie is currently in post-production and has been directed by Jonathan Entwistle, known for “The End of the F*ing World” and “I Am Not Okay with This”. The script was written by Robert Mark Kamen and Rob Lieber.
Who are the cast of Karate Kid: Legends?
The film will feature the return of familiar characters, such as Jackie Chan, who will reprise his role as Mr. Han from the 2010 version, and Ralph Macchio, who will return as Daniel LaRusso, taking on a more mentor-like role.

What is Karate Kid: Legends about?
The story follows on Li Fong (played by Ben Wang), a Chinese teenager who moves to Brooklyn and learns martial arts, blending elements of kung fu and karate. He meets Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Han.
The upcoming drama is independent of the Cobra Kai series and will focus on new challenges and a younger generation of martial artists. Therefore, we can expect significant moments between the senseis.
When will Karate Kid: Legends be released?
Filming took place in April of this year, finishing in June. Now that the first poster has just been released, Sony Pictures has officially confirmed the big release date, which is scheduled for May 30, 2025.
